How is an AMI Montessori different?

An AMI accredited school follows the strict guidelines set forth by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).  AMI was established by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929 to uphold and safeguard the quality of Montessori training and to pass on Dr. Montessori’s educational philosophy and methodology by offering the finest training.

 

Who is an AMI-trained Guide?

An AMI-trained guide has completed an extensive training program offered by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). 

 

What is a prepared environment?

A trained guide and an environment equipped with a complete set of Montessori apparatus prepare the stage for each child to learn.

 

How old should my child be to attend Little Flowers Montessori?

Children generally enter Little Flowers Montessori School between 16 months and three years of age.  

 

How many years should my child attend Little Flowers Montessori?

Children spend between three and four years in the casa with their last year being their kindergarten year. The kindergarten year in the Montessori environment is an essential part of each child’s Montessori experience.
